my grandparents' home (rear view) built around the 1920s. it's where my siblings and i spent our summer holidays.

As a child, I spent my summers in the hills of rural Jamaica at my grandparents’ home playing with my siblings and cousins in cocoa walks, sucking on the sweet and tangy pulp of the cocoa seeds, not knowing this was the stuff of chocolate. We sipped chocolate (aka coco) tea, flavored with cinnamon leaf and nutmeg, skimming the oil that floated on top, careful not to burn our lips or tongue, not knowing this was the stuff of chocolate. Until decades later…… and here we are.
